The Area
Byron Bay is one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations. Known for its picturesque hinterland, unspoilt beaches, rockin’ music festivals and alternate lifestyles; Byron Bay has something for everyone.
For nature lovers, a stroll along the Byron foreshore up to Cape Byron Lighthouse is well worth the trip. Watch the dolphins and whales from the lookout, (whales can be viewed from May to November), admire the stunning views, or simply enjoy an incredible sunrise/sunset from the most easterly point of Australia.
Thanks to its unique location where tropical waters from the north and temperate waters of the south collide, The Cape Byron Marine Park is home to a diverse range of sea creatures. Among the regulars that are seen all year around are 3 different turtle species, wobbegong sharks, eagle rays, cuttlefish and clown fish. Local dive companies visit Julian Rocks daily, allowing you to get up close with nature.
Byron Bay’s beautiful hinterland offers a number of hidden delights to explore - from spectacular waterfalls and national parks through to peaceful rural towns and farms. Take a day trip to Federal or Nimbin and get in touch with your alternative side.
People watching is one of Byron Bay’s most popular pastimes, relax in one of many award winning cafes and restaurants- you just never know who you might see!
Take your choice Byron Bay has it all.
